Thomas R. Verny, MD, DHL (Hon), DPsych, FRCPC, FAPA, is a psychiatrist, author, and internationally recognized authority in prenatal and perinatal psychology. He is the founder of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) and author of eight books, including the international bestseller The Secret Life of the Unborn Child, published in 26 countries. His work has helped advance understanding of how prenatal and early postnatal experiences may influence human development. His most recent book, The Embodied Mind, was published in 2021.
Susan Highsmith, Ph.D. is an educator and counselor residing in Tucson, Arizona. She received her doctorate in Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (SBGI). She instructs masters and doctoral candidates, lectures at universities, community colleges, and charter schools, and speaks at international congresses addressing consciousness in the womb and the long-lasting effects of our earliest experiences. Susan is a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC). She holds a Doctorate of Divinity from the American Institute of Holistic Theology (AIHT), and seeks to balance psychological theory and practice with spiritual and holistic wisdom.
Marie-Julia Guittier is a midwife and holds a PhD in Life and Health Sciences. Her research focuses on childbirth and parenthood, including the evaluation of obstetric interventions, complementary and alternative practices, and parental experiences during childbirth from both clinical and scientific perspectives. Her work also extends to the study of consciousness, including an original exploratory study on prenatal consciousness and potential forms of interaction. Before transitioning to research and education, she practiced as a midwife for nearly twenty years in maternity units across Switzerland and France. She is also a mother and grandmother, with a deep interest in life and its mysteries.
Dr. Akira Ikegawa, M.D., is a Japanese obstetrician-gynecologist and a pioneering researcher in prenatal memory and prenatal consciousness in Japan. With more than 25 years of clinical practice and questionnaire surveys involving over 11,000 children and families, he has systematically collected and analyzed accounts of womb memories, birth memories, and pre-conception experiences. Dr. Ikegawa is the author of numerous books on prenatal memory and has presented his findings across Japan and internationally. Dr. Marta Cristina Coy Rozo is a Colombian physician and pediatrician with 34 years of experience in holistic and integrative pediatrics. She trained at Nueva Granada Military University and the Central Military Hospital and holds additional qualifications in hospital management and homeopathy. She has served in several leadership positions within the Colombian Academy of Pediatrics and Childcare, including as Vice President, and is a member of the Colombian Society of Pediatrics. Dr. OHKADO is a Professor at Chubu University, Japan (Graduate School of General Humanistics, School of General Education). Mónica Rebollo is a Spanish illustrator, graphic designer, and creator of Lluvia de Love. Her personal experiences of motherhood and pregnancy loss led her to explore the mother–baby connection through writing and art. Through her watercolour work, she helps families honour experiences of pregnancy, birth, loss, breastfeeding, and parenting.
